About Me
Your Trusted Communications Partner
I'm a professional storyteller and veteran communicator who specializes in synthesizing complex information into concise narratives and compelling content that tell the story of an organization, executive or issue in positive and memorable ways. I believe that telling the right story through the right channels, all built on a solid foundation, is the key to establishing and maintaining your organization's reputation and visibility in today's era of information overload.
I started Morcopy Communications in 2015 after spending four decades telling stories as a journalist in the technology trade press and national dailies, and then a 15-year career as an agency executive. That experience has given me the opportunity to build expertise across a wide range of key issues, industries, subjects and audiences.
My journalism career included work in Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C., including a decade as a reporter and columnist for the San Jose Mercury News, where I shared a Pulitzer Prize with the newsroom staff for coverage of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Moving to corporate communications in 2001, I served as vice president for a private woman-owned PR agency in Washington, D.C., and then joined FleishmanHillard’s San Francisco office as Senior Vice President, Partner and Chief Storyteller.
Today my consulting practice creates strategic communications materials for clients — from building narratives to developing brand journalism stories for corporate newsrooms; writing op-eds and bylined articles; writing executive speeches or presentations, and training speakers to deliver them; creating social media content programs; creating website copy; ghost-writing and editing business books; and providing expert counsel in crisis management, litigation support and public policy.
